how i got here
I didn't start out as a web designer, and that's what makes the difference
Before web design, I worked in social research. It taught me how to think carefully about human behaviour, look beneath the surface of things, and ask better questions, but I was craving something more creative, more hands-on, more mine.
Web design turned out to be the perfect blend of everything I'd been looking for: psychology, creativity, problem-solving, and the quiet satisfaction of making something that genuinely works. I bring that research-minded approach into every project, but in a way that feels warm, simple and human.

my life off the screen
I live on a narrowboat on the English canals
It's a slower pace of life, deliberately so, and it shapes everything about how I work. Time in nature keeps my mind clear. Being surrounded by quiet has a way of making you think more carefully.
Off the screen I'm usually making something: crochet, baking, cooking, or working on the never-ending renovation of the boat. That same love for making things, thoughtfully and carefully is what I bring to every website I design.
