What i do

A website that just works.*

*Without the stress, endless fiddling or "I have no idea what I'm doing" moments.

The struggle

Most business owners don't struggle because the tools are bad, they struggle because they're doing it alone without the time or experience to make it work. The result is a site that looks almost right, but doesn't quite do what you need.

The strategy

I design sites that look good, work smoothly, and are easy to manage long after launch. With a background in psychology and user experience, I think about more than aesthetics. I focus on how your visitors actually behave, so your site doesn't just look the part, it works for the people using it.

why work with me

Design with intent

01

Built for busy humans

Send me your ideas, scribbles, or rough notes, I'll take it from there. You get a working site without disappearing into a browser tab for weeks.
02

Designed around your visitors

With a background in psychology and user experience, I think about how people actually behave online, where they look, what makes them hesitate, what makes them act.
03

Your platform, chosen for the right reasons

Squarespace for clean, fast builds. Webflow for design flexibility. Shopify when you're selling. The tool that fits your business, not what traps you six months down the line.
04

Custom code when templates can't keep up

When your requirements outgrow what a template can do, I can build bespoke features that make your site work exactly the way it should — no workarounds, no compromises.

About Rachel

I'm Rachel, web designer, UX thinker, narrowboat dweller

I work with small businesses and founders to create websites that reflect who they actually are, not just what they do. I understand what makes a website work beneath the surface: how people navigate, where they hesitate, what makes them stay. So what you get is something intuitive as well as beautiful.

I live on a narrowboat on the English canals, which has nothing to do with web design, but everything to do with what I bring to your website - calm, unhurried, and built to last.

Questions you might have

How much does a website cost?

It depends on the size and complexity of what you need. Most projects start from £1,000. The best way to get a clear figure is to have a quick call, after that I can give you a straightforward quote with no vague estimates or hidden extras.

Do I need to write the content?

Not necessarily. If you have notes, rough ideas, or existing copy, great, we'll work with what you've got. If you're starting from scratch, I can help shape the words so everything feels clear, human, and actually sounds like you.

Will I be able to edit the site myself?

Yes, and I'll make sure you know how before we're done. Every site is built so you can make updates confidently. And if you ever get stuck down the line, I'm not going anywhere.

How long does it take?

Anywhere from two to twelve weeks, depending on the size of the project. Either way, you'll know the timeline upfront, no vague "it'll be ready when it's ready."

Still have questions?

Every project is different, if something isn't answered above, just get in touch. I'll get back to you within 24 hours.
